DocStar ECM available for Esri ArcGIS

 

Epicor Software Corporation released a new DocStar® Enterprise Content Management (ECM) DocStar® Enterprise Content Management (ECM) connector for ArcGIS which enables organizations to connect Geographic Information System (GIS) spatial information and related documents accessible via a map. Users can easily access GIS layers and features while instantly displaying related GIS maps, data and documents.

“Our new connector greatly simplifies document retrieval and management for organizations using ArcGIS, For example, a company that owns and operates mobile cell phone towers can click on a tower location on a map and see all the documents related to that location, such as equipment specifications, service and repair orders, schematics and the like. A building owner can review assets from the top of the building to the subterranean level and download related documents in either a PDF or the native format. This tool helps organizations make more immediate and informed data-driven decisions.”said Greg Cooke, senior director, sales, DocStar ECM.

ESRI releases ArcGIS 10.5

ESRI releases Ecological Marine Units (EMUs)

Esri Releases an Online App called Ecological Marine Units (EMUs ). It makes a deeper understanding  of marine ecosystems. It provides 3D, data-driven, physically distinct regions from the surface down to the ocean floor. By joining  the Ecological Marine Units ArcGIS Online Group, we can access extra resources, data, and tools of EMUs.

Pokévision for Pokémon Go

Esri introduces Pokévision, a third-party app for the viral mobile game Pokémon Go, uses Esri’s award-winning location-based data and mapping platform ArcGIS. It help players of the game to find Pokémon around them.

Pokévision is a web map powered by ArcGIS services, which shows all Pokémon near user-requested locations. When visitors type an address or drop a pin on the map, Pokémon are displayed in real time. It helps the players hunt more strategically by displaying location changes and time spent in each place.

New Release of ArcGIS Full Motion Video: Mapping videos

ESRI releases new version of ArcGIS Full Motion Video (FMV) technology with new capabilities for quickly and easily analyzing video data from drones, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems), and video cameras within your ArcGIS environment. It offers full support for JP2, and TIFF support for video mosaics including full image transformations for better accuracy.

2016 Esri Special Achievement in GIS Award goes to Government of Yukon

Congratulations to Government of Yukon for receiving the 2016 Esri Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award.
The Geomatics Yukon, a group formed by the Government of Yukon manages the territory’s geospatial data and applications. With their enterprise ArcGIS implementation, Geomatics Yukon provide access to nearly 300 internal datasets including land ownership and legal surveys . They also manage a wealth of valuable data that is accessible to the public through Targeted web apps like GeoYukon, Yukon Mining Map Viewer and Yukon Lands Viewer ­­. The government had 30 internal GIS users in 2006 as compared to 450 users in 2015. The number of visits to their interactive web applications increases from 18,000 sessions in 2006 to 150,000 in 2015.

Esri publishes first workbook for ArcGIS Pro

ArcGIS Pro. is a powerful, project-based professional GIS desktop application with a modern ribbon interface. ArcGIS Pro is available in the Esri's ArcGIS Desktop collection of applications. It is designed to create, edit, query, visualize and analyze geospatial data in both 2D and 3D environments.

Now the Esri had released the first work for ArcGIS Pro Getting to Know ArcGIS Pro. The book teaches the basic functions and capabilities of ArcGIS Pro through practical project workflows and shows how it is an essential component of the ArcGIS platform. Today the entire world is celebrating GIS Day with ESRI and OGC. And this week November 15 - 21, 2015 is celebrated as Geography awareness week. The theme for 2015 Geography Awareness Week is “Explore! The Power of Maps”. National Geographic Education officially organizes Geography awareness week .

GIS day provides an international forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. More than an event GIS day brings universities, government agencies, schools, non-profits, and GIS professionals together to build knowledge of GIS in their communities, and create understanding about the world we live in. Many events are organised world wide for celebrating the GIS day and Geoawareness week.

28,793 Open Datasets for free from 2,267 Worldwide Organizations

ArcGIS Open Data  hosted by ESRI allows the public to access and download GIS data of around 28,793 datasets from 2,267 organizations in worldwide for free. Data can be downloaded as spreadsheet (CSV), KML, shapefile (ZIP), or API. Any one can publish their data through ArcGIS Online groups, which helps to set up public facing websites where people can easily find and download your open data in a variety of open formats.

ESRI updated Standard Global Demographic Data

          By July 2015 ESRI will release the updated Standard Global Demographic Data of 45 Countries. The updated data can be access through ArcGIS platform like ArcGIS online through web maps, data enrichment, reports etc. We can also access through ESRI business analyst products and apps.There are 90 international demographic web maps that will be updated to a more current vintage (2 web maps for each of the 45 countries included in the July 2015 release).
